This. weekend. was. awful.
On Saturday (the 19th), I receive notification from my brother that he hadn't seen one of our [older] kitties in several hours. At that point, I wasn't too worried yet; just thought maybe he's hiding somewhere 'cause you know, that's what cats do sometimes when they want some alone time or what not. So I make my way downstairs with the super bright LED lantern, peeking around in all of Punkie's usual hideouts...don't see him anywhere, and he's not responding to us yelling his name either. I'm definitely starting to worry at that point, because this cat *loved* attention and especially loved his people (aka us - his human fam & his even all of his fursiblings. He was just a super lovey/affectionate kittyboy overall)......now tbh, I don't particularly care to go into the details of exactly how/where we ended up finding him, but we then noticed our other [younger] kittygirls paying a loooot of attention to a certain part of the living room...........and there he was. 8:::::[ I immediately lost my shit and the tears just flowed out of me like a waterfall. I'd had that sweet, derpy boy (and his sister, Sunny) since they were teeny tiny babies. He lived to the ripe age of 13 (well, technically he would have turned 13 in May of this year) and his sister Sunny is still her fat, somewhat happy self. I honestly never thought that his sister would outlive him either, but here we are. :/ I miss him something terrible and while I'm of course grateful that we have 4 other kitties still in the house (plus our doggie too), I know I will forever miss my Punkieboy and he will never be forgotten. I hope he's resting peacefully now, frolicking along that ubiquitous rainbow bridge with all of his fellow furfriends.
That's not a recent photo unfortunately, but (also unfortunately) it had been a while since I'd last taken a photo of him. Now I've seriously been thinking about trying to save some $$$ so that I can get some new ink to memorialize him forever on my body. He was by far the absolute sweetest, and the most derpy kitty that I've ever had - and he just loved. EVERYONE. and everything.
